PRE-WEDDING MOMENTS

THE CALM BEFORE THE VOWS

On July 20th, 2024, Veronica and Jordan traveled all the way from Arizona to exchange their vows in a stunning garden wedding nestled in the secluded mountains of Huntsville, Utah. Every detail was meticulously planned by the bride and groom, who, along with their family, friends, and an incredible wedding planner, dedicated many months of preparation and hard work. The cabin was transformed into a breathtaking wedding oasis, a place where their love shone brightly and transcended all.

I truly feel honored to have been chosen to document their very special day as their wedding photographer in Utah. It was meaningful for me to witness their love—not only as a couple, but now as a new stepfamily. Jordan hit the jackpot with his step kids. They adore him, and he feels truly lucky and blessed to love them right back. All three of them gave a touching and emotional speech that was simply amazing to me, as a step parent myself. Such special children and an even more special bond this family has worked hard to create.

first look

Weddings are filled with once-in-a-lifetime moments—some loud and joyful, others quiet and intimate. One of the most meaningful of these moments is the first look. Traditionally, couples would wait until the ceremony to see each other, but more and more modern couples are choosing to share a private first look long before guests take their seats. And for good reason.

A first look isn’t just a trend. It’s an emotionally rich, practical, and beautifully personal addition to the wedding day. Here’s why it’s worth considering.

A first look is a powerful way to add meaning, ease, and connection to your wedding day. It gives you a private moment together before the events begin, helping calm nerves and create space to soak in the emotions of the day. It also makes your timeline smoother by allowing most portraits to be taken early, which means more relaxed, natural photos and more time to enjoy your celebration later. Far from diminishing the aisle moment, a first look often enhances it—letting you be fully present, grounded, and excited when the ceremony begins.

WEDDING DETAILS

Wedding details are so much more than just beautiful accents — they’re the intentional pieces that tell your story. For Jordan and Veronica, every detail was chosen with so much heart, thought, and meaning. From the subtle touches woven throughout the day to the elements that reflected the blending of their family, each detail spoke to who they are and the life they’re building together.

Photographing these moments was especially meaningful for me. I loved taking the time to capture the details you both poured care into — the quiet, thoughtful pieces that often go unnoticed in the moment but become such powerful reminders later on. Your wedding was filled with warmth, intention, and connection, and the details brought that feeling to life in the most beautiful way.

Documenting Jordan and Veronica’s details was pure joy for me as a storyteller. These images help preserve not just how their wedding day looked, but how it felt — full of love, purpose, and the beginning of something truly special.

WEDDING CEREMONY

Jordan and Veronica’s ceremony took place in a peaceful mountain clearing tucked away in the secluded hills of Huntsville, Utah. The setting felt almost enchanted—towering trees, soft sunlight filtering through the branches, and a quiet stillness that made every moment feel intentional. Guests gathered in an intimate garden space overlooking a small pond, where even a little family of ducks added their own gentle charm as they wandered the water’s edge.

As the ceremony began, there was a tangible tenderness in the air. Every word spoken seemed to echo with meaning. Jordan and Veronica stood hand in hand, surrounded by their closest loved ones, their faces full of emotion and quiet joy. The mountains wrapped around them like a sanctuary, creating the perfect backdrop for a moment that felt both deeply personal and sacred.

One of the most touching parts of the ceremony was watching their new family stand together with so much unity and love. Veronica’s children—now officially Jordan’s stepchildren—were an incredibly heartfelt part of the day. Their genuine support, soft smiles, and emotional presence added a beautiful layer of meaning to the entire experience. As a stepparent myself, witnessing that bond unfold was profoundly moving.

RECEPTION

Their garden wedding reception in Huntsville, Utah was the perfect blend of beauty, intention, and teamwork. Set beneath a gorgeous white tent surrounded by mountain greenery, every detail reflected the incredible effort Jordan and Veronica put into creating a meaningful celebration.

One of the standout moments of the evening was Jordan stepping into his role not just as groom, but as chef and creative mastermind behind the meal. He prepared an unforgettable steak dinner, amazing mashed potatoes, paired with the freshest carrot salad—simple, elevated, and full of heart. Guests couldn’t stop talking about it. Myself included.

The atmosphere under the tent felt warm, intimate, and full of genuine joy. With family gathered, the mountains surrounding them, and a reception crafted with so much love, their Huntsville garden wedding became a night everyone will remember, most especially the appearance of Ken!

JUST THE BRIDE AND GROOM

We took pre-ceremony bridals after our first look, and it rained! Which we all know is a sign of good luck on your wedding! It rained just enough to make it romantic and get unique shots under the umbrella. The rain cleared just in time to finish our portraits, but most importantly before the actual ceremony. I love having a first look, because it means we can do amazing intimate portraits just them in the stillness and giddiness and slight butterflies, knowing that in just an hour they will say "I do" and become one as Mr. and Mrs. This time is beyond precious and serenity from the chaos of all the prep work and planning. This is where the bride and groom get a small respite from all their hard labor and get to just BE, together, in love and betrothed for the last time. They go from engagement excitement to husband and wife.

Before the reception, Veronica changed into her 2nd gown for the evening. Those images are at the end. Such an adorable gown with the cutest bow, allowing for a more comfortable experience during the reception events. We had to take them aside, to give it, its own moment for that pretty little classy number.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS PORTRAITS

One of the most meaningful parts of any wedding day is capturing the people who showed up for you—the ones who traveled near and far to celebrate your love, to stand beside you, and to witness the beginning of your forever.

Let’s be honest… not everyone loves having their photo taken, and group portraits aren’t always the highlight of the day. But this is where I step in. I guide the process with intention—keeping it organized, efficient, and even a little fun—so it feels effortless and allows you to return quickly to the celebration.

Because while it may feel like “just a photo” in the moment, these images quietly become something far more sacred. They become keepsakes. Anchors in time. A visual record of love, presence, and connection.

In Jordan’s story, his beloved father passed not long after the wedding day. Those portraits—once just part of the schedule—became some of the last images they would ever have together. And suddenly, they meant everything.

That is why I approach every family and friends portrait with intention and care. I photograph as if each moment matters deeply—because it does. Because sometimes, these images become more than memories… they become legacy.

So we gather everyone in, we take the photo, we preserve the moment—and then we send you right back to the laughter, the music, and the joy of the day.

And one day, when you look back, you won’t just see who was there… you’ll feel it all over again.
